At the Boardwalk Resort, you can realize any lifestyle choice. Whether you’re a recluse or party animal, fitness nut or intrepid explorer, your preference is easy to attain. Kick back on a leisurely cruise through the Mangroves…
…or just lay back at our pool and stare at the ultra blue, smogless sky…
… or get all dressed up and join the nearest party.
Or swim some laps, knock yourself out on the volleyball court or hit the gym for a couple hours. Too much like work? Okay, so just curl up and catch up on your reading.
Guests often put together planned events but, as in most communities, the more ‘impromptu’ happenings comprise the bulk of daily life.
Spontaneous Activities:
Guests use the Pavilion and outside deck for a myriad of pursuits: You can almost always sit in at on-going cribbage and card games. Or join a pick-up game of horseshoes or shuffleboard or volleyball.
At the Boardwalk, it’s easy to assemble folks for a spirited game of just about anything… especially if there’s some food and refreshment involved.
On weekends, there are frequent pool parties – sometimes with food, sometimes not, but always lots of fun.
…which often extends into the wee hours.
Note* On-site events are primarily BYOB, though beer and wine is sometimes available.
On the Cultural Side
There is always an outlet for your creativity. Whether it’s painting or crafts or music, there are always some like-minded people to share with or to learn from.
Last winter the big thing was on-going art classes, culminating with a public exhibit and awards event. And the excellent quality of work turned out to be quite an eye-opener! [If anyone has photos, send them along. We’d love to exhibit some examples on our Gallery pages.]
With the beautiful Florida weather and the location of this appealing community, it’s Florida at its best! So enjoy your days and rejoice in the beautiful sunsets. But just remember, when that sunset finally comes…
… that’s just the beginning of the fun!
In the Works:
We’ve been hosting a horseshoe tournament on Wednesday evenings. It’s something that just started this summer and – if there’s continuing interest – could continue through the winter.
We’re considering an on-site Thursday Steak Night. This activity, formerly held at the local VFW, became quite popular last winter. But the ‘V’ has announced its intent to sell and recently listed their building. Though it may not sell immediately it could happen any time, bringing an abrupt halt to the event. For that, and some other reasons, maybe it’s better – plus more fun and cheaper – to run our own event?
As always, we invite your input and comments.
